Process Hazards Analysis for Team Leaders

Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) is a set of organized and systematic assessments of the potential hazards associated with an industrial process. A PHA provides information intended to assist managers and employees in making decisions for improving safety and reducing the consequences of unwanted or unplanned releases of hazardous chemicals. PHA is directed toward analyzing potential causes and consequences of fires, explosions, releases of toxic or flammable chemicals and major spills of hazardous chemicals, and it focuses on equipment, instrumentation, utilities, human actions, and external factors that might impact the process.

The use of PHAs is mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in its Process Safety Management regulation for the identification of risks involved in the design, operation, and modification of processes that handle highly hazardous chemicals. Please click here & fill in your details to receive the course brochure with more information from us.

Strategic Safety Culture Roadmap

The Safety Culture improvement strategies presented in the Strategic Safety Culture Roadmap Workshop are already successfully impacting many companies in a variety of industries. The highlighted strategies are based on best practice, supported by evidence-based tools and techniques known to have helped improve safety performance by reducing incidents and cutting costs, while also improving productivity.

Government regulators and industry associations have begun to put a heightened focus on Safety Culture. They recognized that achieving world-class safety performance involves more than mechanically applying a management system. It requires the involvement of everyone in the organization, from top to bottom, directing their effort toward  continual improvement. Please click here & fill in your details to receive the course brochure with more information from us.

Propelling Your Safety Culture to World-Class

Safety Leadership is vital component of any Safety, Health & Environment process. Helping to improve employee’s safety behavior by as much as 86 percent, we can help you face the Safety Leadership challenges n your Safety Culture improvement journey. Benchmarking your Safety Process against best practices can help you identify opportunities for change to fully optimise your Return on Investment. Some Safety Process can take 12-24 months to get you to Zero while others can take many years to truly impact injury rates. Often the difference is related to the design of the process and /or how well it is being excuted. The Safety Maturity Ladder shows that increasing ownership and coverage leads to greater injury reduction. Please click here & fill in your details to receive the course brochure with more information from us.

Emergency Response & Control

The problem with disasters and emergencies is that by their very nature come when least expected or as a bolt out of the blue, crippling organisations, industries and very often causing substantial loss of life and numerous injuries, but it does not have to be this way. Experience has shown that organisations which devote time effort and resources to understanding emergencies and applying preventive measures generally sustain less damage and overall impact recovering much quicker after the event  than organisations which are unprepared. This short course examines the nature of emergencies and disaster –focusing on those which are man-made and industrial based and provides insight to how organisations can prepare themselves and militate against the worse scenarios and mitigate consequences should they be caught up in one. Please click here & fill in your details to receive the course brochure with more information from us.

Auditing Safety Management System

Professional approaches to improving safety work have progressively broadened from an emphasis on accident prevention to one that stresses the importance of effective Safety Management System (SMS). SMS auditing provides a check on the reliability, efficiency and effectiveness if an organization’s policy making, planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing of safety performance. The following are the special highlights of this course. Develop full safety management auditing system. Recognise the issues needed to consider when further developing the current system. Identify audit standards for your business and evaluate and report audit data. Please click here & fill in your details to receive the course brochure with more information from us.

Mechanical Integrity Best Practice – Risk-Based Inspection

Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) is a Mechanical Integrity “best practice”, which uses risk analysis methods to focus tests and inspections on process equipment in high risk service so that potential losses in terms of safety, environmental impacts, equipment damage and business interruption are minimized. Its utility is based on the rough premise that 10% of the equipment in a process contributes 90% of the risk. Consequently, if this 10% of the equipment can be identified, testing and inspection can be focused on it rather than low-risk items. This approach is clearly preferable to the usual method of treating all equipment equally, regardless of its risk contribution because it optimizes sometimes limited manpower and financial resources dedicated to inspection and testing. Please click here & fill in your details to receive the course brochure with more information from us.

Mechanical Integrity for Process Safety & Risk Management

This course explains how to establish a program for maintaining the integrity of critical process equipment to improve reliability and satisfy government regulations by establishing management systems, procedures and training programs for mechanical integrity (MI).

Course includes instruction on management systems for MI, determining what equipment to include, identifying applicable codes and standards, deciding what repairs and preventive maintenance should be performed, developing procedure, establishing requirement for training MI personnel, how to handle equipment deficiencies, and what types of quality assurance should be performed to ensure equipment is properly fabricated and installed and spare parts and materials are suitable for their intended application. The course also describes computerized maintenance management systems and their selection. Additionally, a description is provided of reliability-centered maintenance and an example is given. Please click here & fill in your details to receive the course brochure with more information from us.

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Today virtually all countries around the World have some sort of legislation in place to minimise environmental impact and there are several worldwide agreements relating to this. But how do we assess the impact of our activities on the environment, particularly in the case of new projects or variations in existing use, and how do we make sure we have got it right? This  process replaces the more traditional “end of pipe” approach which only sought to treat emissions before they were released and did little to account for longer term effects. It allows us to consider the longer term impacts and effects of any development, in its broadest sense, and is so well recognised today that it is generally a legal requirement in most countries when planning new developments. As well as being a useful tool for examining aspects of environmental management in general. Please click here & fill in your details to receive the course brochure with more information from us.

Designing an Effective Behavioral Based Safety Process

BBS is an excellent programme for change which will enable you to identify hazards, control risks, and improve safety management in really effective ways. Accident rates fall, and the consequences of any accidents that do happen are less serious than they would have been before BBS was introduced.

No effective industry or workplace can be well managed and efficient if it does not control risk and continually improve the Safety Management System. Please click here & fill in your details to receive the course brochure with more information from us.

Incident Management, Command & Control

The successful managing of any major incident is a result of a number of factors. Some of these factors relate to the preparation and planning that has been done at a strategic and organisational level to establish mechanisms that will support and enable success. Thus incident command should feature as part of any business continuity programme and disaster emergency management system. But because of their relative rarity outside the emergency services and military contexts, experience of dealing with incidents is somewhat limited. Please click here & fill in your details to receive the course brochure with more information from us.
